Sole is flexible to help you feel the floor.
You're not supposed to wear suede soles outside - but every swing dancer knows that to make them faster you wear them everywhere and get them dirty, then dance in them to make them shiny on the bottom. If you prefer them less zippy, just don't wear them outside and rough 'em up with a wire brush periodically. Just remember that if you wear them in the rain they'll be tough to spin in until they dry.

NOTE:
Chrome
Leather (suede tanned with chromium salts) is wonderful to dance
on but requires occasional upkeep (it's usually a rockstepping
thing). If you need to reglue the chrome many people just use
crazy glue gel, also we have found that commercially produced
shoe repair glue works great. Usually available from the shoe
repair shop in your local mall.
SIZING
TIPS:
PLEASE
NOTE: Testing these on 20 different dancers showed us that if
you fit two sizes, it's best to try the smaller of the two (say,
if you fit 6.5 to 7; you will most likely fit the 6.5 best).
For international sizing we recommend that you use our Sizing
Chart to help you make a decision (then choose the smaller
of the two if you're right in between).
INSOLE:
The
thick foam insole is removeable!! This means that you can get
a custom fit by replacing the insole with one that you've purchased
to custom fit your foot (add arch support or use orthotics, etc.)
or just wear them as is.
