Split soles are traditionally worn by jazz dancers - but they also make great swing dance shoes! We did quite a lot of research before choosing these. We were looking fo something with a low top and fast bottom. Also, comfort and a torqueable arch adjustment were high on the list.

To test spinability we sanded the sole with power tools to simulate years of abuse - and found you can still spin on them even when they're worn down way past the factory finish...

They have a nice molded insole that you can remove if you want to put orthotics inside - and bulit-in foam all around your foot. It is especially thick and comfy around your ankle, heel and under the tongue.

Both the toe, sides and heel have flat surfaces that allow you to slide on them if you wish.

Split Sole shoes allow you to control the floor. The Spin Spot - see photo below - will help you find your center for perfect spins.

These are jet black and look great with streetwear, jeans, dress pants, skirts or shorts. They are incredibly light.

We've tested these on a variety of surfaces including ballrooms, linoleum, sticky club dance floors, industrial carpet and (gasp!) asphalt. They danced beautifully on every one.

SIZING INFO:

We found that because these are both adjustable (because of the laces) and thoroughly lined with foam that most people can fit comfortably into their regular American shoe size (if anything they run just a little roomy - and men with wide feet find these roomy enough to dance in).

These only come in Medium Width.
